Our Kigurumi Onesies are genuine and official – the real deal!

Every design is made from high quality fleece, double stitched and lined to ensure it'll endure festivals, nights out on the town, and years of hard relaxing on the couch. They won't fall apart after their first wash like imitations!

The word kigurumi is the Japanese name for costumed performers who represent cartoon characters, often animals. The name comes from the Japanese verb kiru (to wear) and noun nuigurumi (stuffed toy).

We now have the cute Albetta Baby range available at Mighty Ape!

Albetta products feature a mix of fresh and fun designs and bright colours with traditional handicraft features, including hand-finished designs in appliqué, crochet, embroidery and print.

The Albetta range includes Rompers (long and short leg) which are suitable for newborn infants to 12 months. Dresses for 1–6 years. In addition to these garments theres also a small collection of soft toys, hair slide holders, as well as assorted buntings (flag decorations) to add a festive touch to your child’s room!

We've just had these beautiful Lord of the Rings Scarves created by NZ designer Stansborough arrive into our warehouse! These scarves are crafted on looms which date back to the 1890's are totally natural, chemical free and hand finished.

Stansborough are based in New Zealand, they produce their own flock of blue grey sheep which provide wool that is unusually silky, soft and lustrous. The unique fibre created by their flock of rare grey sheep was used to costume most of the main characters appearing in 'The Lord of the Rings’ films!

True to Tolkien's des­cription this special fabric takes on the natural hues of the surroundings. A perfect, practical collectors item for any true Tolkein Fan!

We are back in stock of our popular winter Kigurumi Onesies perfect to keep you cosy and warm this winter!

Kigurumi comes from a combination of two Japanese words: kiru (“to wear”) and nuigurumi (“stuffed toy”). Traditionally, it referred specifically to the performers wearing the costume, but the word has since grown to include the costumes themselves. In Japan, kigurumi costumes are worn as a way to break the conventions of traditional dress… or just as comfy pajamas!

There are popular favourites like Owl, Panda, Pokemon and Hello Kitty, as well as new styles such as Monkey, Frog, Seal, Tigger and Cow!

One size fits most adults and teens from 5' (1.52m) – if you're over 5' 9"(1.75m), they will cut off above your ankles but can still be worn.
