This is an amazing movie which the narrator says is not a love story but a story of “boy likes girl”. We find ourselves falling in love with and hating all of the characters at the same time as we are fast forwarded through high-lights of Tom and Summer's relationship in a non-linear fashion. Despite the structure we are still able to peace together the order of events and find ourselves with a great story with a very poetic ending, winning best screenplay of 2009.
This movie is fantastic! It's not just your usual romantic comedy, (500) Days of Summer gives a new take on the genre, and as it said at the beginning, it is not a love story, it is a story about love. And that it is. This film pulls together a great cast, a good story line, and a unique way of telling a story about love.
