Beautifully filmed excellent story lines very interesting
Once again our crews have travelled throughout the country to bring you these
wonderful tales of some of the amazing, interesting and dedicated people who
live here.
Through the stories in this collection we meet a Hamilton family whose business
specialises in hand-made gouda cheese the secrets of which were learnt from
monks in a monastery on the Dutch-Belgian border fifty years earlier; a couple
who swapped the corporate life in Sydney to set up a free- range pig farm in
Horowhenua and a pilot who has returned to farming after 26 years as a
helicopter pilot. We visit Te Kuta Station, a sheep and beef farm in a remote
spot called French Pass; an 11 year old boy chasing his dream to be one of the
country’s best young cattle handlers and an alpaca stud on Banks Peninsula
where they are breeding the rare black suri – valued for their long silky
fleece. From a Northland dairy farmer who also writes a weekly magazine column,
to a Southland couple who collect and identify heritage apple trees, this season
of Country Calendar really does cover the length and breadth of New Zealand.
