The soundtrack to the upcoming Ubisoft video game FAR CRY 4 on CD with music from acclaimed Hollywood composer Cliff Martinez.
The album will be released with 45 minutes of bonus material not included on the digital release, and will be issued on a double CD, providing around two hours of music from the game. Invada have been involved in several Cliff Martinez projects, with their own release of the popular soundtracks to crime thriller DRIVE and science fiction film SOLARIS. FAR CRY 4 is Cliff's first foray into the world of video game music. Label Manager Redg Weeks states “Ubisoft are not only a huge company in the video game world, they put huge emphasis on the soundtrack to their games – the fact they've brought in Cliff to score FC4 shows the lengths they go to deliver a real top-notch overall product.”
Cliff Martinez – who also composed scores for films including Traffic, Spring Breakers and Drive – worked with Far Cry 4’s Music Designer Jerome Angelot, Music Supervisor Simon Landry and Audio Director Tony Gronick to craft an original score befitting the majestic mountaintops that frame the deadly surroundings and capture the ruthless characters who live (and die) in the fictional war-torn nation of Kyrat.
“Bringing Cliff on board was a no-brainer,” said Gronick. “Collaborating with him was a dream. He has the remarkable ability to portray compelling emotions and elevate the mundane into extraordinary with his musical talent.”
