Multi platinum-selling country icon Clint Black is back. Long heralded as one of Country music’s biggest stars, Black releases On Purpose, his first all-new studio album in a decade. On Purpose, Black’s twenty-first album overall, marks his first since 2005’s Drinkin’ Songs and Other Logic and is his twelfth studio release.

The 14-track album, recorded at Black’s studio in Nashville compiles a strikingly diverse group of his self-produced songs. The lilting “You Still Get to Me” marks Black’s third duet with his wife, actor Lisa Hartman Black. Ballads like “Only One Way to Live,” “Stay Gone,” “Breathing Air” and “Last Day” have never cut deeper, while his merry, clever “Beer” and “Better and Worse” are among the most upbeat songs that he has ever crafted. “Time For That,” “Doing It Now For Love” and “Summertime Song” are catchy examples of how groove-soaked his music can be. “Calling It News” is a wry, topical statement, while “The Trouble” is colored by Australian slang.

Black has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and charted nearly two dozen #1 singles including “Nothing But The Taillights, “Like The Rain” and “When I Said I Do.” He’s earned place as one of the most successful artists in Country music history having written, recorded and released more than 100 songs, with nearly one third achieving “hit song” status on Country radio. Since his debut Black has won numerous awards from the American Music Awards, Academy of County Music and the Country Music Association. Black came onto the scene in 1989 with the debut of his critically acclaimed fan favorite Killin’ Time, which won him Album of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, and Top New Male Vocalist. The Triple-Platinum release boasted five #1 hits including the title track, and “A Better Man,” which were 1989’s #1 and #2 singles of the year, a feat not achieved since Hank Williams Sr., 35 years earlier. He has earned over two dozen #1 singles, and thirty-one Top 10 hits – all written by Black. Along with being a celebrated Country artist Clint serves as Honorary Chair for the International Rett Syndrome Foundation’s (IRSF) “Research to Reality: Funding Process.”
