BBC brings us this hysterical piece of TV history.
In the late '60s, Peter Cook (Bedazzled, Black Beauty) and Dudley Moore (Arthur, Santa Claus) changed the face of British comedy forever with their classic television series Not Only… But Also. Broadcast in 1965–66 and 1970, this ground-breaking series, renowned for Cook and Moore's impromptu speeches, half-written scripts and witty ad-libs, paved the way for future iconic Britcoms including Monty Python's Flying Circus, Benny Hill and Little Britain. Unfortunately, more than half of the series was erased in the '70s, but in 1990, the BBC delved into the archives and restored what remained from the original broadcasts to create six new 30-minute episodes entitled The Best of… What's Left of… Not Only… But Also…
A must own DVD for comedy fans, this title features approximately three hours of clever and hilarious content and also boasts memorable guest appearances including John Lennon. Bonus features include a 30-minute featurette on the success story of Cook and Moore.
