This blu-ray consists of the 1981 Rock Montreal concert and the 1985 Live Aid concert. Being a Queen fan for over the past 30 years, I must admit I am bias towards the greatest rock band of all time. No singer will ever replace the late Freddie Mercury as the lead singer of Queen and this blu-ray shows at great lengths the true talents of Queen.
The Rock Montreal concert is a full length concert with Queen playing some of their greatest hits. Including, We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love, Crazy Thing Called Love, Love Of My Life, Another One Bites The Dust and We Are The Champions to name a few.
Although the crowd interaction is not there compared to most Queen concerts, it is still a great show and an enjoyable insight into how Queen performed live throughout their career.
1985 Live Aid concert saw Queen be reborn to a new fan base and reignite their existing fan base, as they stole the show. The concert does reflect how Queen and the crowd appreciate each other and interact with each other. Although they only belt out 7 tracks, they gave 110% and you can truly see the charismatic, flamboyant and talented front man Freddie Mercury at his best.
If you enjoy true live rock concerts then this blu-ray is definitely a must.
The only flaw to me is the interference from the speakers during the Live Aid concert which causes phase lines to appear throughout some shots during the concert. However, taking into account that these concerts are nearly 30 years old, it is over a great reproduction.
The blu-ray also comes with some great bonuses as well. They are great concerts to watch time and time again. They may even entice you to drag the old vinyl records out of the cupboard. Enjoy..
