I've been using the previous Naga for a couple of years now, and the 12 button thumb grid really changed the way I played MMOs (and other games featuring hotbar controls such as Diablo 3). However the right button click eventually became worn and started performing double clicks so when I was looking to upgrade, this mouse seemed like the logical progression.
The changes to the thumb grid are welcome – the mechanical buttons feel more responsive and the layout is more intuitive for helping your muscle memory remember the positioning. The overall grip feels weightier and grippier than previous model as well.
My only issue was with installation – the thumb grid did not work straight away. After reinstalling the firmware and Razer drivers, I still could not get the thumb grid to work. I sent it back to Mighty Ape but they found no problems with it. Once I got it back, it still didn't work despite several workarounds I attempted. After a lengthy web search, I found one mention of the mouse not working correctly when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. My computer has 6× 3.0/2.0 USB ports on the rear panel so naturally I was using those. When I tried it one of my 2× front USB 2.0 only ports, the thumb grid started working.
It's a shame this is not mentioned anywhere on either the Razer documentation or this product page. Hopefully this will help anyone else with the same issue!
