If you are into pirate games this is the one for you. It incorporates all the best from all other pirate games like Sea Dogs, and has far better graphics.
Controls take a while to get used to, and have had no system problems because I installed the latest patch on it. If you are worried about the starforce protection you just download the starforce free patch after you install the game (before you run it) and you should have no problems.
