And if strangers come to supper they shall be served with more according to as they have need. - Robert Grosseteste (c. 1168-1253) Haunted by his past and facing certain ruin, Jonathan Boyd does the one thing he can do after being left to raise his infant son alone. He embarks on a quest to discover the meaning of his Japanese American wife Natsuko's life, and the reason for her early departure from his. This journey, which unfolds within his home state of Texas, takes him into a mysterious world of culture shock, tangled webs, dark secrets, and a touch of magic: a world whose inhabitants are not all what they seem. Can he successfully navigate a path through this strange universe? Only if he can clear the many hurdles in his way will he be able to solve his puzzle, conquer his fears, and complete his quest. Only if he is still standing when reality crumbles into fantasy can he be a father to his son, and guide the boy to his own destiny.
