Author Biography:

Wayne F. Cascio is a Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at the University of Colorado, Denver. He is past chair of the Society for Human Resource Management Foundation and the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management, past president of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and a past member of the Academy of Management's Board of Governors. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Human Resources, the Academy of Management, the American Psychological Association, and the Australian Human Resources Institute. Professor Cascio received the Distinguished Career Award from the HR Division of the Academy of Management; an honorary doctorate from the University of Geneva, Switzerland; the Michael R. Losey Human Resources Research Award from the Society for Human Resource Management; the Distinguished Scientific Contributions Award from the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology; and, by a vote of 90 countries, the George Petitpas [Lifetime Achievement] Award from the World Federation of People Management Associations. In 2020 he received the inaugural Ulrich Impact Award from the HR Division of the Academy of Management for his research that links theory to practical applications, and he was also inducted into the Australian HR Institute's Hall of Fame. In 2022 he received the Distinguished Service Award from the University of Colorado Board of Regents for his service to the state and to the nation. He is a former area and consulting editor of the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) and he also served as a senior editor of the Journal of World Business. He served as chair of the SHRM Certification Commission and a member of the Australian HR Institute's National Certification Council, each for 8 years. He has consulted with various private- and public-sector organizations on six continents and periodically testifies as an expert witness in employment discrimination cases. Professor Cascio is an active researcher, writer, and speaker. He has published more than 200 articles and book chapters, and 33 books and delivered more than 800 presentations to professional and business audiences worldwide. His work is regularly cited in the business press. Professor Cascio earned his B.A. from Holy Cross College, his M.A. from Emory University, and his Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Rochester. Herman Aguinis is the Avram Tucker Distinguished Scholar and Professor of Management at The George Washington University School of Business. His work addresses the global acquisition and deployment of talent in organizations and organizational research methods (i.e., behavioral science and data science). His life and professional agenda is to impact the academic community and society, and numerous media outlets, including Forbes, Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, The Economist, and Bloomberg Businessweek, have featured his research. He has published over 210 refereed journal articles and 13 books, including Performance Management (5th edition, 2023), Performance Management for Dummies, and Research Methodology: Best Practices for Rigorous, Credible, and Impactful Research (2025). Every year since 2018, Web of Science Highly Cited Researchers Reports has ranked him among the world′s 100 most impactful researchers in Economics and Business. He has been inducted into The Ph.D. Project Hall of Fame and served as President of the Academy of Management (2021-2022). Also, he is a Fellow of the Academy of Management, American Psychological Association, Association for Psychological Science, and Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He received the Losey Award from the Society for Human Resource Management Foundation for lifetime achievement in human resource research, the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Scientific Contributions Award for lifetime contributions, the Academy of Management Practice Theme Committee Scholar Practice Impact Award recognizing outstanding impact on policy-making and managerial and organizational practices, and the Academy of Management Research Methods Division Distinguished Career Award for lifetime contributions. Also, he received best-article-of-the-year awards from the Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior (twice), Organizational Research Methods, Business Horizons, Academy of Management Perspectives, and Management Research. In addition to his academic activities, Professor Aguinis has consulted with organizations in the United States, Europe, and Latin America, including Accenture, the United Nations, TCI-AT&T, the City of San Francisco Police Department, Sears, and the U.S. Department of State, among others.
