All a beginner needs to start painting at a decent level. Make sure you take care when cleaning as they're really susceptible to splaying and very tricky to correct.

After one session with the smallest of these brushes the wood had softened, started to bend and the plastic outer layer cracked and started to come away. Brush not bad for detailing but the handles seem poor.
The standard and small detail brushes are good overall, the drybrush is very cheap u can probably get a bunch of the them from any store for very cheap.
This set provides great value for money for someone who just needs some brushes to get their miniature painting done. I've painted a couple hundred mini's in my time, but I'm not a super-detail / showroom / needing to be featured in the next White Dwarf magazine style painter. For me these brushes are great, the standard brush in the set has been my goto for a couple dozen mini's now.
