"Good design concept poorly executed manufacture"
1 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This item could of been a epic item, good concept design ver poorly executed, the blush hold is the best and worst of this product design but missing a second rubber moulding on other seal sides, which makes the water vapours escape and ur paint will dry up the next day also got mouldy. The items dont seal properly the brush hold wiggles around. If only they had rubber seals on the brush holder it would of been an impressive product. Far inferior product in comparison the REDGRASS wet pallet one. Hope mightyape get some of those in for us

"No thought has gone into the design"

Billed as the best wet palette you can buy, this was a huge disappointment. The plastic water tray has no seal, so your palette will dry out, the water tray could use non slip pads on the bottom, the brush tray and lid only stack in 1 direction and you cannot use the lid without the brush tray. The whole thing is held together with an elastic band, it should have snapped closed. The brush tray does not hold the army painter brushes securely, defating the entire purpose and likely damaging the bristles of your brushes if you leave them rattling around in there. The hydro sponges (you get 2) are very thin. Honestly you would be better off making your own from a shallow snaplok box, a sponge and some greaseproof paper for a fraction of the price.

"Neat"

I hesitated to buy this product due to some negative reviews here. However local art shops only sold large versions which would be too big for a cluttered hobby desk. Anyway I ended up taking the risk, and I'm very satisfied. Its a good size, I found it plenty of room to mix enough different paints to do a run of minis. And small enough to fit on the desk. I don't find there's an issue with the seal of the box. I left mine for four days and the paint was still workable. No leakage. It closes with a satisfying ‘clip’ and the funky red strap is enough to hold it closed. The paint brush storage section is obviously designed for Army Painter brushes, and the couple I have sit securely there. This is a great accessory to my painting kit and I find the tricky business of glazing so much easier with a wet palette

This is a great wet pallette. About A5 size it fits easily on a desk, but with enough room for all the paints you use. I've had paints last a week and still be effective. Well worth thje upgrade from the diy one I've had for the last few years

Even though there's no solid seal on this wet palette its still kept my paints usable after 2 weeks. Comes with everything you need. As a first palette definitely recommend.

For the price you pay, you get double the contents! If you've been struggling with trying to keep your paints wet and not dry, pick up one of these.

"Saw the reviews, bought it anyway"
5 stars"

Going from your own makeshift dry palette (styrofoam, plastic, whatever) to this is a huge gamechanger. No more stressing about how much paint you should use at once because it'll dry out in <20 minutes – this will keep your paints fresh for at least 30 hours (up to 48 according to the box, haven't needed it for that long yet). If you just want Baby's First Wet Palette, this is it, and you should get it. Comes with an instruction booklet (and like 4 advertising booklets, of course). No regrets, really convenient.

"Does a great job - Wet Palette"

Um and arh, then got this, and loved it- enjoyed mixing on this more than my home made one, but might use both – dodgey paint and metalics on home one, and great paints on the ARMY painter. Plus holding my spare brushes.

"Do Not Buy"

Started to try and paint with this Item poured a bit of water onto the sponge put the baking paper on top poured a little bit of paint onto it to start the whole thing. Coloured Water.

Ran through the process again removing every drop of water from the tray while leaving the sponge with water, start painting using it lightly, worked. Had to pack it up to go to work, come home open it up. Everything is running the whole bottom cover is covered in paint. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM WASTE OF WATER AND MONEY ALONG WITH TIME

"Works really well!"

A wet palette is a game changer when it comes to acrylic and gouache paints not drying out immediately and driving me crazy. The Army Painter is a perfect compact size for my desk, and it works well for smaller painting projects. In fact, it worked a little too well! I added too much water the first time I used it and the paints ran after an hour with the lid on. So my tip is to keep the sponge damp and not saturated. My paints stayed wet for days, and the little papers fit nicely on top of the sponge. I like the brush holder compartment too! Very happy with this product, it does what I want it to and it looks cool as well.

"Excellent wet palette"

Upgraded from a DIY wet palette to this. Does the job nicely, I don't do really long paint sessions so it keeps my paints wet for up to a week if I pop it in the fridge when not in use. Just have to keep an eye on the wetness of the foam & top it up as required.

"Better options out there"
1 stars"

This has one huge design flaw of not having a air tight seal which is the entire reason a wet palette is worth having for keeping your paints over multiple sessions, I would highly recommend the Red Grass Games wet palettes and avoid this one as it fails at the basics.
