Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition reviews

Batman fans rejoice, Arkham City is a game jam-packed with fan-service, atmosphere and most important of all… Fun!

This game is incredible from start to finish, with an opening that'll definitely get you pumping, and an ending that'll blow you away. The story is dark, the gameplay deep, varied and thrilling and the feeling of being the Batman can't be beat.

The Collector's Edition too is great here, to me it was well worth the price, with the awesome art-book, the cool ‘Gotham Knight’ film, and the sweet looking Batman statue. Some people may be let down by the lack of an actual game case (as the game is kept in the back page of the art book, but otherwise this is a great package for one of my new favourite games.

I was a little afraid that maybe I'd overhyped this game too much for it to live up to it. I was wrong, simple as that. If you enjoyed Arkham Asylum, or if you enjoy gaming AT ALL, you'll LOVE Arkham City. It takes everything that was good about the first game, and makes it that much better. A very highly recommended purchase.

I'm a big fan of collectors editions of games, especially ones made really well. This set is definitely one of them. Fantastic game, well crafted Statue and excellent presentation overall. 10/10

I love this game and was so stoked when this was released , especially with a statue. Really good quality and awesome artwork. Definitely worth getting for the collection!

I would like to start by saying, this game should have won ALL the Game of the Year awards last year. A bold claim, i know (and yes i have played Skyrim and Drakes Deception) but this game does not lack in any department. The graphics are sleek and modern, bringing a vibrant decay to the desolate streets of Gotham, the content is massive with an involved central storyline and a plethora of side quests and AR skill missions. The score plays over the game so subtlety that it almost seems like its part of the ambiance, masterfully portrayed voice work overall, with another fantastic Joker played by Mark Hamill.

If i was to say anything negative, it would be that the VR mode is very crucial to find everything you need to in the game, and sometimes you find yourself leaving it on, instead of enjoying the fantastic Gotham views.

Batman: Arkham City Collector's Edition is a fantastic piece to own. The additional content, including the Batman Statue, the Artwork and DLC extends upon the experience of an already fantastic game! Focussing on the gaming experience itself, Arkham City extends upon gameplay conventions established in the previous title, and instead of isolating the open enivironments in a stage format, it connects them all into a vast open world map full of events, the famous Riddler Trophies, side missions and places to explore. Batman's gadgets and abilities have been improved to allow easier traversing of the vaster game world (with a zip-line launcher that allows Batman to glide, zip-line to a ledge and then launch from that ledge straight into another glide for continous flight around the city). With stunning visuals, a fantastic story that does great service to that of the previous game, and to the lore of Batman, an massive cast of villains nad characters to interact with, Batman: Arkham City is put simply one of the most exciting and engaging games in recent times, a must own for any fan of advenure gaming!

The standard by which not just superhero games, but games in general, should be judged. I read that in an early review, and thought it sounded a bit over the top. That was before I played it. Every wish fans had for this game has been fulfilled, and then some. Easily a GOTY contender, and best game of the year so far.

Not only is the gameplay polished and well designed the game simply oozes style. The game world is packed with things to do and references to find, the attention to detail is staggering. Whether you are a Batman fan or not this is a must play game.
