If you like JRPG's this game is like candy. If you don't, then I'd say stay away. It isn't what I'd consider a good starter entry into the genre as most of its storyline conventions are by todays standards cheesy. But if that is set aside, the gameplay and characters are very interesting and fun to interact with for anyone. Someone who has played final fantasy like games, or other turn based strategy like Fire Emblem / Pokemon would probably enjoy this game as much as I have.

Bravely Default II is a wicked game, the gameplay and music are both awesome. The plot's not quite as long as the original Bravely Default's, which is a shame.
Don't come into this expecting the twist and turns of the previous Bravely Defaults. The story does nothing experimental or subversive. The gameplay too, is held back by obnoxious counter mechanics, grind, and a timer-bar based turn order that curtails the strategy of the more standard turn-based system.
Bravely Second improved a lot over Bravely Default, but the original Japanese release had some negative reception (which was fixed in the localisation). But because of that reception, I feel the director took the wrong lessons to heart in their games since.
Love this game
