Expected a solid wooden box like the old library card boxes of old. Instead its a thin card board box thats made to look like wood. Only thing thats real is the index book cards on the inside.
A selection of original library index cards have been dusted off and reproduced in this evocative notecard set – all housed in your very own card catalogue drawer, with index tabs, to keep forever.
Each note card features a different classic title and comes with an envelope designed to look like a library book date due slip.
User Reviews
“Although it's a box of notecards, it's unlikely I'll ever use them – just because they're so darn cute! This would make a GREAT gift for a librarian friend or family member. Sure, it's cardboard, but from a foot away, it can deceive you into thinking it's an actual old-time wooden card catalog box, complete with metal pull-handle..Just Adorable!” E King
“This is a lovely and most amusing little toy for bibliophiles. It's a well-crafted cardboard box with photos on all sides so it looks like the original made of wood. A little file drawer pulls out of it. The drawer contains 30 individual facsimile catalog cards, arranged alphabetically by author, with little tabbed alphabet dividers. Each card is 3” x 5": on one side is the facsimile catalog card–for example, the card for Louisa May Alcott's _Little Women_--and the other side is lined and formatted like a blank catalog card. 30 attractive blue envelopes are included in the back of the box, so you could write a note to someone on the blank side of the _Little Women_ card, say, and mail it to them in one of the envelopes. I'm not sure if I want to part with any of the cards, they're that charming–with cross-outs and hand-written changes, old-fashioned typewriter fonts, dirt & grime, the whole bit…" Fiona
