Description

This book is a story of the Chinese entrepreneur Paul Yat-Bor Leung. Liang was born in poverty in China, he fled to Hong Kong and started his career life from the lower class and had witnessed the rise of Hong Kong's food and beverage industry in the sixties. When Leung was working in Hong Kong Food Industry, he has learnt professional skills; however, during the reform of Chinese Government, Leung has also experienced the cultural impact brought by the 40 million people fleeing from China to Hong Kong. The cultural shock arising from this tiny island in Hong Kong has firmed Leung's determination of immigration to the Western World. After his emigration to Canada, with Leung's expertise and hard-working, Leung has started to establish his catering business in Victoria Island, Canada; he opened three large-scale catering restaurants and has become the leader and shining star of the Chinese-Canadian Community. This book has collected many precious pictures and a lot of records with Leung's story, thoughts, philosophy as being an overseas Chinese not only in his catering business but also his family life as well as the records of Victoria Branch of KMT (Kuo Min Tang Party) and historical background of the country. With Leung's autobiographical "Chinese Dream," readers may experience the life and history from the view point of a Chinese immigrant of Hong Kong to Canada.
