Dr. Richard Fuller is a Professor at the University of Queensland, Australia. He has worked on the ecology and conservation of migratory species for over 20 years, publishing more than 100 scientific papers on the subject. With a strong foundation of work on migratory birds in the Asia-Pacific, he also has a growing interest in insect migration. Dr. Fuller has a very strong network of collaborators around the world, and for example recently chaired a conference on migratory shorebirds attended by 500 people. Dr. Eduardo Gallo-Cajiao is a recent David H. Smith Conservation Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington, Seattle. His research primarily focuses on understanding the governance dimensions of migratory species conservation drawing on ecology and political science. Under this theme, he has conducted research with a focus on all migratory birds in the Americas, seabirds in the Tropical Pacific and Australia, as well as on shorebirds in the Asia-Pacific and beyond. Additionally, he has track record of strong science communication skills as demonstrated by his tenure as Vice-President of Education and Outreach of the Society for Conservation Biology, which will be an asset to ensure the book reaches a broad audience. Dr. Autumn-Lynn Harrison is a Research Ecologist at the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center, part of the National Zoological Park and Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute in Washington, D.C. USA. She has studied animal migration in many systems, including land mammals of the East African savannah, marine predators in the Pacific Ocean, and now birds of the Western Hemisphere. Dr. Harrison’s experience with edited volumes will be a strong contribution—she was the editorial assistant for the volume, Connectivity Conservation (Cambridge University Press) and is an editor of the forthcoming Atlas of Migratory Connectivity for the Birds of North America (Princeton University Press, 2022). Her work aims also to translate discoveries from animal tracking technologies into conservation and management. She worked for the Society for Conservation Biology for 11 years and has been a leader of multiple animal migration conservation initiatives.
