Description

The study of French culture underwent something of a change at the end of the 20th century, drawing on ideas developed in cultural studies departments and applying these to the study of contemporary France. This work offers an approach to contemporary French cultural debates. It explores French culture through the key themes of the past, culture and subcultures, cultural production and consumption, the body, audio and visual cultures, cultures of the mind, and finishes with an introduction to the contribution which French theorists have made to cultural analysis in recent years.
