Description

Set against a background of spiralling recession and harsh corporate capitalism in the early twenty-second century, Corporate Alien brings together the extremes of an embattled society to collide in a climax of violence and conspiracy. Colonies, mining outposts, trading stations and merchant shipping bearing the brunt of brutal raids, attacks characterised by being random, cold-blooded, and from unknown assailants. Josta Sams is caught in one such assault but survives with a small handful of others in the chaotic wreckage of their supply and salvage establishment. After an eventual and timely rescue, the group learn of their untimely redundancy from their employer, but fortune smiles as the team manages to form their own salvage company and begin profitable operations. However, the salvage operations result in the entanglement of the venture with a number of diverse characters, whose destinies become quickly linked. Deadly corporate power struggles where anything goes play against the impotent struggles of a weak military to ensure the devastation wrought by the mysterious aggressors escalates exponentially. Fate takes Josta on a roller-coaster adventure where the stakes are high and no quarter is given or expected.

Author Biography:

After thirty years at sea, Ross Baxter now concentrates on writing sci-fi and horror fiction. He originally started writing westerns to while away the long hours at sea during the lengthy night watches; the wide open spaces of the Old West distracting from the close confines of a warship of the New West. His varied work has been published in print and Kindle by a number of publishing houses in the US and the UK. Married to a Norwegian and with two Anglo-Viking kids, he now lives in Derby, England.
