Loved this movie heaps.
This is a superbly crafted and acted film, which actually gives an accurate depiction of Native Americans and shows the reality of some of their interactions with Europeans. Kevin Costner is brilliant in his role, but no more so than many of the other actors who were unknown at the time this was released. The gritty reality is mixed with humour; grief mingles with romance and at the end, despite everything, there is some hope for the future.
Great Movie, brilliant story, the “John Dunbar theme” by John Barry makes the movie, no wonder it won 7 Academy Awards !
Really enjoyed the movie but was disappointed about the deletion of a critical scene where Kicking Bird is showing Dunbar the sacred site of the Souix ( about 2hrs 20 min in)and explaining the history. Some beautiful scenery in this scene. This scene was a pivotal landmark in the movie.
This is an excellent movie academy award winner & best picture in 1990 Kevin Costner is a great actor in this movie. It goes for almost 4Hrs but it is one of those type of movies once you start watching you will enjoy if you are a western fan i would recommend.
Worth every cent. Great quality DVD and excellent fast service from Mighty Ape.
