Description

In the finest tradition of Barry Crump, Graeme Mackie proves that the art of telling a good Kiwi yarn isn't dead. Rolly and his mate Jim are hired and fired by a variety of hard-case bosses after some spectacular mishaps. They find an injured dog and learn to hunt pigs. But it's down at the pub that the stories really fly, fuelled by plenty of the amber nectar, as real blokes out-do each other's yarns about fishing, hunting, and the ones that got away. These stories of Rolly's early life are smoothly told, with a craftsman's eye for detail and a wicked sense of humour.

Author Biography:

He was born and raised in South Auckland where his greatest enjoyment was fishing on the Manukau harbour with his Dad. His other major interest was the deep-throated roar of diesels, and he would cycle for miles to watch earth-moving machinery in action, dreaming of the day when he'd be behind the controls himself.
