Doctor Who Revenge of the Cybermen & Silver Nemesis Box Set reviews

This is a great box-set to buy, mainly because of the Second DVD, Silver Nemesis. It's got a great storyline, and is far easier for the average fan to follow than anything in the third season involving Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor.

The concept of this story revolves around three distinct threats to the earth, each representing a group that should never be allowed to seize power. There's also a fair smattering of comedy, which helps make up for the occasional plot-hole.

The other story, Revenge of the Cybermen, is fairly typical of the early Tom Baker years – an adequate story, told in a less-than-convincing manner. This story is most famous for it's extensive use of innuendo – it kind of belies the “G” rating…

Overall, I wasn't disappointed.

These are some great stories. Tom Baker's one is probably the worst of all of the Cybermen stories but it's still enjoyable. Silver Nemesis is one of McCoys best stories in my opinion.

Two different cyber men stories with vastly different doctor who's. More for the fans than new Doctor Who converts…

Revenge of the Cybermen: Four episodes of the fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith using poor Harry Sullivan as a whipping boy. Silver Nemesis: Three episodes of the scheming seventh Doctor accompanied by Ace at her action hero best. The best villain in both stories is not the Cybermen but a human. Well worth buying at this price.

I liked finding out where the Cybermen originated from and their weaknesses . In the modern Doctor Who's none of these are mentioned. As usual in these older films they did not have the funds for expensive costumes that taken into account Great story lines. Real must haves for any ones Doctor Who DVD Library.
