Description

Small insects that resemble bats were flying above our heads and sounding like large bumble bees. My friend. James Vincent, was so afraid he told me later that he peed in his pants. I found a stick about the size of a mans arm and hit one flying too close to me. It hit the ground and stupid me picked it up. I shouted to James, it has two hands and two feet like a human has. It's head looked like a demon head, if you know what I mean. By the way, my name is John, John Cain and I live a few miles from a river bridge that crosses Pond River. James lives on down the track, yes track. There's no road where we live, there has never been a road on the Muhlenberg side of Pond River. The Hopkins County side of the bridge has a good road, which leads to an underground coal mine. That is where James and I work and we both hate the place. Its dangerous and the boss is an idiot. But enough of our history, we are here to tell you about the giant bugs we encountered here. I'll make a long story very short. After many deaths of our friends, the Army and wildlife people we finally rid ourselves of the bugs. I won't tell you how we did it so you'll have to read the book. This story was written between the time we killed all the bugs and the time when James and I met our demise, yes our demise. It happened, well I'll shut up, a person isn't supposed to know when they are gonna die. Did we die, well read the book and you'll find out.
