The year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy. This is the first year of'the rest of your life; what will you do with it? You may say, it is a beginning for you. Another chance to improve your position with God and man. With all of the hopes that you may have for this year it will be no better than any other, unless you strive to make it so. This new year, 1970 will bring to you opportunities and privileges that you may have that chance to succeed where you may have fail ed. However, this new year does not guarantee any of us success but offers the opportunities that we may succeed. Failure and success are the two customers that will greet you; each day of this new year. Failure will have a very attractive offer to present to you, and if you choose to accept, it will mean that you won't have a lot of hard work to do. You can let up in your work and rock along, just taking it easy. On the other hand, success will offer to you long hours of toiling. Which would you prefer? Failure says, I am best because you can relax and enjoy what you have. But take a look at the end results. Failure brings fear and anxiety, but success produces courage, hope, peace of mind, and a great deal of satisfaction that you have made a worthwhile contribution. How many of us have said, I want 1970 to be the best year of my life? Practically all of us want that for the new year, but we will not get it without price. For the most part, the old saying, You get what you pay for, is true. I think I can tell you how you may be successful in 1970.
