Description

Excerpt from Evangel, Vol. 29: Official Organ of the North Carolina Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church; January 1974 As we look with retrospect on the year 1973, and face the new year with its great challenge, my mind goes back to the Apostle Paul in Philippians -14 where he said, Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. I feel sure that if. Each Christian was asked the question; Did you do all you could for the cause of Christ last year? That their answer would be; Well I tried, but I could have done more. Paul said, not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after. He was expressing virtually the same-i have not as yet, but I will continue, I will follow, I will press toward the mark, I will forget yesterday, and reach forth to those things which are before. Last year most people made their new year's resolutions. This is good. But to just make a resolution or vow, does not mean that the good will be reached. We must determine within our hearts that by God's help - I will attain. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
