Description

A gathering of stories for short-time reading on the bus, subway, train, in the waiting room, bathroom, or anywhere you would read without getting involved in a plot, mystery or lengthy discussion. This little volume contains a little fantasy, a little biography, a little fact-just the kind of things that "dip" readers enjoy. Chuck Northup has dropped into his past eighty-seven years to use past events of his own and friends. He has used dreams and as well as adventures from his own travels or those of his ancestors. Some, however, are pure fiction. You may try to discover which stories are really true. For the more serious minded there's material for contemplation, whether it be fact or fantasy. There can be fun in poetry also. This is reading for all-fables and science fiction to read to young, things for adolescents or young adults to laugh about, and reminiscences for elders.

Author Biography:

Charles (Chuck) Northup was born, grew up, and married in San Jose. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines and Japan at the end of Work War II, as part of the Army of Occupation. He attended college and spent his first 40 or so years in San Jose before moving to Santa Rosa to engage in his chosen occupation of writing for industrial companies. He remarried a woman experienced in guiding tours to Japan and traveled numerous times to that country. When computers took over his occupation, he joined with his wife's business by publishing Japanese patterns for clothing, quilts, and crafts. Their home is a bit of Japan. After 40 or so more years, he returned to San Jose to live in a retirement home with his wife. He continues to write from his home. He has previously published a book, Japan Travel Planner.
