The fifth of author Jacqueline Briggs Martin's award winning "Food Heroes" series. A picture book biography about the pioneering woman farmer who founded Eva's Garden in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts more than 50 years ago and continues to introduce culinary herbs, greens, flowers, and wild foraged goods to Boston area chefs and eaters. Author Biography:

Jacqueline Brigs Martin is the author of many award-winning children's books, including Snowflake Bentley, winner of the Caldecott Medal. Farmer Eva's Green Garden Life is part of her "Food Heroes" biography series, published by Readers to Eaters, which includes Farmer Will Allen and the Growing Table, Alice Waters and the Trip to Delicious, Chef Roy Choi and the Street Food Remix, and Sandor Katz and the Tiny Wild, the latter two co-written with June Jo Lee. She lives in Mount Vernon, Iowa. jacquelinebriggsmartin.com. Christy Hale has illustrated numerous award-winning picture books, including OUR SCHOOL GARDEN! published by Readers to Eaters. She is also the author and illustrator of many acclaimed children's books, including Water Land: Land and Water Forms around the World, Todos Igulales: Un Corrido de Lemon Grove/All Equal: A Ballad of Lemon Grove, and Dreaming Up: A Celebration of Building. Her newest book is Copycat: Nature-Inspired Design Around the World. She is also an art director, designer, and educator, and offers programs for all ages. She lives in Palo Alto, California.
