In 1459 open war breaks out as York and Lancaster fight for the crown of England, but in the heart of Yorkshire an old local score is being settled. Father executed, brother butchered and sisters abducted - for young knight, Ned Elder, a feud has begun and he barely escapes with his life. Pursued across the land with only a few loyal companions, he is caught up in the civil war as he searches for his sisters. As the civil war rages across the snow-covered battlefield of Towton, Ned, his sisters and the girl he loves must fight for survival and the bitter feud is played out to its bloody conclusion.

Author Biography:

Derek was born in Hampshire in England but spent his teenage years in Auckland, New Zealand, where he still has strong family ties. On his return to England, after eight years abroad, he read history at Reading University. For many years Derek taught history at a secondary school, but took early retirement to concentrate on writing which led to his spectacular debut novel, Feud. He is interested in everything historical but his particular favourite is the late medieval period. So far he has completed a nine-book series, entitled The Wars of the Roses, and an Amazon best-selling trilogy about the British hero, Ambrosius Aurelianus, entitled: The Last of the Romans.
