"A fans ultimate guide to Foos history"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

I'll admit to already being a huge Foo's fan so this doco would have had to be incredibily dull for me not to like it. That said, I was really impressed with the open frankness of it. So often we get a polished version where everyone comes across squeaky clean. And although I'm sure there is more behind some of the stories told here, and more that we will never know about, it was refreshing to watch something that felt you were simply sitting chatting openly with the members themselves. Having also recently seen them in Western Springs (OMG what a show) it was great to see the closness they showed on stage came through in this show. A good mix of music, Foos history with a little history of the other musical influences of the era. Some may think Dave came over as controlling but I say here is a man who was driven to create a great rock, making great rock music. The world is a better place because of it – ok I know thats a little OTT but I did admit to being a big fan :-). Thrilled I got this and will be a regular on the rewatch list for me.

If you love the Foo Fighters then you'll definitly need to buy this dvd. A really interesting look into how they got started and how they have progressed with a few hiccups along the way. Great interviews that felt open and honest. BUY this DVD! You won't regret it.

"Awesome doco about the history of the Foo's"

I'm a big Foo's fan so you can't get much better than a documentary that traverses the history of the band – from Grohl's sad days after the death of Kurt Cobain, to finding his music groove again, to the ups and downs of finding the right mix of band-mates.

I haven't heard Grohl so openly talk about Nirvana and the end of that era, and the director also manages to show that Grohl is a control freak yet showing that his drive demands perfection, commitment and passion from those around him, so that you can still maintain empathy for him despite a few drama's.

Love the baby photo's, the insider's view into the recording of the “Wasting Light” album, and it is delightful watching the Foo's interact with their families and each other after so many intense years of band-ship.

For any Foo's fan, like me; but equally as interesting for those who aren't rampant fans.
