Description

This book is concerned with food production and security in Sub Saharan Africa. It seeks to highlight the importance of urban food systems, women and micro-livestock farming, and how these can be instrumental in ensuring food security. There is an attempt to suggest that understanding of climate change variables and their impacts on agricultural production is a prerequisite for defining appropriate agricultural adaptive responses to increase food production. The book acknowledges that meeting food demand due to increasing human population in Sub Saharan Africa has been a challenge. Suggest improved productive resources supply side will translate into adequate food production. If food production is improved Sub Saharan Africa will not continue to worry that human population growth will out pace the ability to meet the predicted food demand.
