The acreage increased from to nearly acres, the cr0p from to about bushels. In 1936, the peak year, about bushels were harvested from slightly less than acres. Between 1928 and 1936 the number of farmers cultivating Winter wheat increased from 212 to 529. In 1941, however, less than 400 farmers reported a wheat acreage.
