Author Biography:

Dr. Sarita Srivastava is Professor and former Head of the Department of Foods and Nutrition at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India. She has 38 years of teaching, research and administrative experience. Dr. Sarita did M.Sc. in Foods and Nutrition and PhD in Biochemistry from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India and Post Doctorate from Braunschweigh, Germany (1988-89). She was the recipient of the FAO fellowship and worked under the UNDP project at Michigan State University, USA in 1993. Dr. Anju Bisht is an Associate Professor in the Department of Home Science, MB Government Post Graduate College, Uttarakhand. She has done her M.Sc. (Foods and Nutrition) and Ph.D. (Human Nutrition) from GB Pant Univ. of Ag. & Tech., Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. She has supervised more than 15 Postgraduate dissertations and one Ph D. She has more than 25 research papers in national and international journals, 20 book chapters, and participation in more than 30 seminars and conferences to her credentials. Dr. Avula Laxmaiah is Scientist ā€˜Gā€™ & Head, Division of Public Health Nutrition, ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, India. He has over 30 years of research and managerial experience in the Indian Council of Medical Research. He has published over 140 papers in national & international peer-reviewed journals including The Lancet, Lancet child and Adolescents, Nature, and BMJ. He is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow in the Imperial College London, UK, for the period 2020 to 2022. Dr. Anita Seetha is a Senior Scientist (Nutrition) at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), India. She has 13 years of research experience in Malawi, Tanzania, Myanmar and India. She established and lead a nutrition program at ICRISAT, Malawi. She is experienced in working in low and middle-income countries of Africa and Asia in the field of public health nutrition. Dr Anitha Seetha started her carrier as a post-doctoral research fellow in the field of food safety and nutrition at ICRISAT, Malawi. She believes in integrating agriculture-based nutrition interventions with health and hygiene through a value chain approach. She completed PhD in food science and has 13+ years of working experience in Malawi, Tanzania, Myanmar, and India in the field of public health nutrition. Her major achievements are firstly, Introducing millets and pigeonpea in school feeding programs as a pilot study in the Karnataka state of India and in Tanzania.
