GT6 reviews

First impressions are very positive.. the interface has undergone a huge ‘un-bloat’ and is simple, attractive and useable, with quick access to all the things you previously needed to change screens to get to.

Loading times are hugely better than GT5, with instant menu switches and much quicker load times for tracks. This alone makes for a much better experience.

I have only played through the early sections so far, but the progression through the races, licenses and events is logical and fun. The actual racing engine seems to be rock solid, the cars feel good and the game has had some nice visual tweaks. The AI has not looked weak as yet.

The only bad thing I can think of so far is that I'm missing the used car purchasing.. but the ‘recommended cars’ feature is really nice, saving you from guessing what kind of car is a good idea for what series.

All in all a real return to form and the feel of the early GT days

GT6 has definitely improved over GT5 in terms of the driving experience because of the solid physics engine.. Driving the Alpine A110 on goodwood for the first time took me by surprise when I counter-steered too much and the car snapped back – PD didn't lie when they said you shouldn't make sudden movements. Suspension modelling is amazing! Only thing is that I didn't receive my Torque pack DLC code but I'm sure mighty ape will sort that out soon :) thanks Mighty Ape!

Was well worth the wait for the release, would easily compare to rival games, even Forza 5. Still was a let down on the Exhaust noises, but if you were to fully tune a car and not do the Exhaust in real life, then the noise is perfect. 4 Stars due to that.

I have Forza 5 and GT6 so I can compare. Sure the graphics are better on Forza but I would take GT6 any day. The variety of cars and tracks, races and the licenses, its just a more involving game. Forza feels like a rush job and a way to make money off DLC.

Should have done research before buying 2 copies of this game! Bought one for my friend who lives overseas so we could race together online. We still play MW3 and GTA5 online so assumed this would also work. But nope… They shut down the servers a few months ago (from date of this review). Pretty stink seeing as this is the most complete version of Gran Turismo released as of Sept 2018. Also, took HOURS to update once installing.

DONT BUY IT! 7 hours of installing and its still doesnt work! Checked on google to find millions of people around the world gave up with installing with patient 1 person trying a whooping 16 times to install and each time took hours to no avail. $35 ill never get back pissed off is an understatement

Clear crisp grafics easy to begin and beautiful cars.

From it's short development (3 years) Gran Turismo 6 adds substantial amount of improvements from it's predecessors, and it now packs over 1200 cars, added new original/real world circuits, and new race events/features.

Although it's not perfect, GT6 grows strength to strength via updates & dlc over it's life span.

It's definitely a must have for PS3 owners.

long ass earnings to get cars can be a pain.....but then you do need to practice and LOTS, so it kind of a double whammy but then benefits comes back four times better. It's not really for kids…which there is Manfeild and and other NZ tracks, I'd expect this be included in upgrades and or in GT7.....that would be my biggest complaint about it…

Good driving game

Very good game, loved them all, just wish that it wouldnt force me to buy a Honda Fit. Same as Gran turismo 5 But definately more refined in eevery way.

Not a huge step up from GT5, but I bought it simply because the online service period had ended for GT5 rendering it virtually useless. If you're only just buying GT6 now, be prepared for about an 8 hour (or there-abouts) setup process as a ton of updates need to be downloaded and installed (19 updates to date, most ranging between 400MB – 2800MB, all of which install twice; once when they first download, and then the game itself goes through a further installation process for each update, many of which take about 20–30 minutes per update). Once in the game though, it is certainly very good and well worth the wait. Combined with a steering wheel controller, it is awesome!

Builds on GT5 by removing horrible navigation and loading times. 1200 plus beautiful looking cars and heaps of things to do with them

All the classic features of GT and GT2. Tonnes of cars and excellent interface and menus, making it very easy to upgrade and switch cars.

Got this because gt5 online services stopped. Pretty fun game!

This game was, and still is, incredibly fun. It's got enough of a twist from the previous games to make it worth buying, but still adheres to the tried and tested formula that I love. The vast majority of the problems in GT5 have been solved in this game. Massive range of cars, modelling is incredible, awesome tracks, and it's awesome having the old school tracks from the earlier games still here. Only improvement I could think of would be the car damage on crashing isn't really there. You just can't overly damage cars which sucks. But overall, a great game

After the bitter disappointment of GT5 I was a bit dubious about buying this, but my gut instinct was to try it out and I'm glad I did. Gameplay and visuals are rock solid.

My only complaints would be that there are still some “low res” cars in the game and the vehicle audio can be a bit weak at times, but compared to the amount of awesome in GT6 these gripes are only minor.

Game arrived on release date so was extremely happy with service, first order placed with Mighty Ape and can not fault AAA+++

Definitely needs the logitech g27 but is an awesome game

There are good points and bad points to GT6 so far.

The worst of it for me is having had 2× 1.2GB updates for the game. One on day 1 and one on the 18th of December.

Apart from those I'm of 2 minds with it so far.

Love the game definitely 5 stars

Best car game i've ever played can't wait till we see the next installment on PS4
