Description

This book is written for those of us who love the Clemson University Fighting Tigers Football Team. You'll like all the stories from the University's founding in 1889, just about 130 years ago, to the beginning of the football program, through the great coaches to CU as an annual National Champion contender. You will learn that Clemson Tigers are trained by great coaches to become fierce and passionate competitors. From the stadium to the classroom to the research lab, the Clemson Tigers know how to win. From the very beginning, the book moves you one coach at time but rapidly through the CU football ages. We we meet the great immortal Clemson University of Florida coaches from the first, Walter Riggs to the current coach, Dabo Swinney. Riggs, the first of many great coaches is known as the father of Clemson Football and it is not just because he hired the famed John Heisman as the fourth Tiger coach shortly after the official beginning of football on campus. You've heard of them all over the years - John Heisman, Frank Howard--the longest tenured Clemson Coach, Jess Neely, and of course Danny Ford who brought us all the first CU National Championship in 1981. That's not enough so we take you all the way past Coach Tommy Bowden and on to the great Dabo Swinney and the reigning 2017 National Champion Clemson Tigers. Go Tigers! Go Tigers! Those of us who enjoy the teams coming out every week in the fall know that it was because twenty-five great UF coaches worked with hundreds of great players in 130 years. These coaches masterminded the victories while the CU players provided the excitement. We do know how the coaches did it. It was through hard work--discipline, conditioning and a commitment to the honor of winning. From day one, The Tigers have been a winning team. Look at the record. The Clemson Tigers from way back learned to win. CU fans need this book on their bookshelves to get the story from a coach's perspective on how they pulled it off. This book is your finest source for a great read on your favorite college football team by studying the history of its great coaches. This book is for your reading pleasure but also as a great reference for when you want to see how a particular Clemson coach performed in any particular season or game. If you are a Clemson Tigers fan. you will not want to put this book down until you know every coach's name and something about their record.
