Probably best-known for its starring role in the Hollywood blockbuster Top Gun, the US Navys Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, variable geometry, two-seat, carrier-based, air superiority fighter.The Tomcat was developed for the US Navys Naval Fighter Experimental (VFX) program following the collapse of the F-111B project. This workshop manual covers operating and maintaining this aircraft, and is filled with first-person insights into flying the Tomcat.

Author Biography:

Tony Holmes has worked as Osprey's aerospace editor since 1989, having previously served as an author/photographer for Osprey in Australasia. He established the critically acclaimed and hugely popular 'Aircraft of the Aces' series in 1994. Tony is widely published in the book and magazine worlds.
