Hacksaw Ridge reviews

A real heart breaker, I don't really like war movies for this reason, but well worth the watch, a real show of strength, determination and belief!!

Initially it takes a bit to get use to the way Doss speaks. Basically because of his beliefs not to bear arms he is bullied and ridiculed by his fellow soldiers. He is emotionally raw from trying to stick to his beliefs but also do the honorable thing and fight for his country. During the bloody attacks, while they attempt to take-over Hacksaw Ridge, he finds a way to serve his country and stick to those beliefs.

This is based in WWII so the action we are used to in the movies these days makes this movie look a little lackluster but compelling nonetheless. The eager young men turn into frightened targets shuffling towards the Japanese for slaughter … dirty and confused scenes of blood, pain and death.

Thought provoking as it brings up some interesting questions about what they fought for, showing his Father and his issues from fighting a previous war.

Well done. This story was heart felt and real.

Excellent movie. Worth you buying and watching.
