Isaac Hazlehurst upon that gentleman's election to the office of City Solicitor in 1854. Here he displayed such marked ability as to warrant the assignment to him, although the young est of the assistants, of some of the chief duties of the office, and with Mr. Hazlehurst he draughted many of the ordinances made necessary by the Act of Consolidation.
