I love Hive! Easy to learn and very portable. I much prefer it to chess. I was able to teach my mum the game in about 5 minutes. I originally had the pocket version but I found I actually enjoyed playing with the larger pieces and they are still easy to take with you. The reason for four instead of five stars is because this version of the game doesn't come with the expansions like the pocket version does. You can buy them but they are disproportionately expensive. Of course the game is fun without the expansions but I enjoy the ability to add or remove them for variety as I please.

A very fun game with lots of replayability. The pieces are nice and chunky but the game is super portable.

Very excited to play this with the family on the Christmas holidays. And then anytime actually. Beaut fun.

Similar to chess, (but way better) each bug moves a certain way and goal is to surround the queen to win the game, it plays fast, lots of strategy. Can be cut-throat but doesn't hurt to lose.. Cheap enough. I have the “pocket edition” its exactly same game with smaller bits comes with expansion ladybug and mosquito which is cool but not essential. Can have heaps of fun without.
