Incredibly informative, well written, well presented, well illustrated. In classic Kurzgesagt style this breaks down insanely complex subject material and repackages it into a concise and easy to understand 330-ish page tome. I found this very easy to read and digest, and that is coming from an almost exclusive genre-fiction reader that finds non-fiction difficult most times.

Cleverly written, this is a must read for all humans. They explain how the immune system works with beautiful diagrams, great humor and masterfully simplified for anyone to understand. This is not a boring text book, it had me laughing at points but mostly marveling in the beautiful complex system that keeps us alive.

There is a lot of complex information that is written in a way that is easy to understand and follow. Great book to get insight on immunology.

I am currently a first-year University student and had bought this book in assisting my study in biological science. It provides all the introduction information required for entry to harder and more comprehensive books about immunology. It took me about 1 and a half weeks to finish the book. Though it might be a little pricy in the beginning, after finishing the book just right now I felt lucky that I had bought this book.

Philipp Dettmer is very good at breaking down complex topics and finding great analogies to help explain a subject.

I liken the reading to a captivating science fiction novel… Only this was real. A riveting journey into the micro space of ourslves and the incredible complexity of the battle for life. Great learning and a great read!

I'm halfway through and easily the best popular science book I've read. The information is conveyed clearer, more interestingly, and more concisely, than any other pop sci book I've ever read. Should have ordered more than one and given them to family for Christmas. On top of the actual information the writer imparts on you, is the physical quality of the book itself; just beautiful. I don't know if the illustrations are for everyone, but I really like them.

Very good book for anyone remotely interested in learning about the immune system and was written by a fantastic guy.
