If you've never had a father, how can you know what a father's love is? If you're regularly agitated inside, how can you experience peace? If dark days seem to dominate, how can you see a bright spot in your life? If you have a psychiatric illness, it is even harder to be beautiful and positive in life as God intended for us. The aim of this collection of poems In Barbed Wire Intertwined is to let you know that you can take shelter in the arms of God in difficult times. Rebecca Jansen (born May 16, 1989 in Rotterdam), is a "psychiatric patient" since fifteen because of mental health problems diagnosed by several psychiatric clinics. Now 21, she is still included on the list of psychiatric patients. Rebecca is convinced that after all her self-harming behavior - cuts in the body, poison in pills- her faith and love of God, and her writing are her strength and even her salvation.
