Author Biography:

Ann Laquer Estin of Iowa City, Iowa is a member of the bar in Colorado and Iowa, and has been teaching and writing about family law for more than 20 years. She is an active member of the International Society of Family Law, and has attended numerous meetings of the Hague Conference on Private International Law focused on the four Hague Children's Conventions. She has participated as an observer at meetings of U.S. State Department's Advisory Committee on Private International Law. Her international work was recognized with a Global Scholar award from the University of Iowa in 2009.
