Description

. This publication documents an exhibition made up of more than seventy sculptures by this artist at the Old School of San Ildefonso in 2015 "Javier Marin's sculptures are the result of different time periods being melded together. Upon viewing their monumental volumes, it is not easy to decide whether they are an updated version of sculpture from classical antiquity or a return to modern sculpture from the nineteenth century." Jose Manuel Springer This book is a review of two decades in the career of eminent sculptor Javier Marin, providing readers and viewers with an exceptional opportunity to analyse the variety of his work, including pieces that bear witness to his technical mastery and the aesthetic qualities and creativity that distinguish his sculptural works (different sizes in bronze, polyester resin and mixtures with different organic materials such as dried meat, amaranth grain, etc.). With its very high-quality images, this edition gives readers the chance to experience each of the textures in his works, which re-interpret and show a different dimension of the aesthetics of human anatomy, as a way of revealing many details, faces, busts, figures and fragments therein. Text in English and Spanish. 150 colour
