Description

Nigeria is largely a nation of people who carelessly talk and wickedly act. Certainly no Head of Government in Nigeria is ever distracted as the current President of Nigeria. Yet he remains unruffled and emboldened in his patriotic mission of transforming Nigeria. Indeed his words and actions clearly demonstrate this. Goodluck Jonathan is indeed different in a country where most leaders are chameleons that are neither here nor there on national issues when their opinions matter most. These disgruntled elements always incite their people against others when things never favoured them. No wonder there are always baseless riots in Nigeria every now and then, with very high death levels and colossal destructions each time. It is to say the least that Nigerians presently do not love themselves. Each move made by any leader from one tribe, even if it was one intended for good, is welcome with suspicion and unwarranted criticism from other tribes. And most times, this stance dovetails into undue tensions in the polity. I dare say that most riots in the country could have not occurred in the first place, if not for the selfish influences of heartless leaders we have. Surely, leadership has frontally failed Nigerians for quite a long time now. This book is a compilation of some patriotic quotes culled from speeches and statements of Goodluck Jonathan. The material is a well-arranged piece with the sole aim of teaching and instilling in our people that sense of patriotism or national-consciousness which seems fading away, or even lacking, but which is most needed at this time. Nothing gingers the human mind like inspirational words such as those contained in these materials. Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan was born (20 November, 1957) to a family of canoe makers at Ogbia in Bayelsa State. He is the fourteenth Head of Government and current President of Nigeria. His biography is an interesting piece, and his political expedition highly inspirational.
