A very informative book for the beginner as well as experienced cooks. I purchased it after reading the author's blog, which was entertaining!
Maki does a wonderful job explaining how to make food for your bento lunch, as well as advice on organisation, cooking for weight-loss and nifty tips about changing things up to suit your own tastes. The instructions are simple, and the ingredients are items you can find at the supermarket, or easily found substitutes are given. I've tried a couple recipes so far that came out wonderfully.
The actual book is printed mainly in black and white, with all the food images in glorious colour, making you really want to cook it yourself!
