Angus Gillies has written books about All Black Justin Marshall, Blackcaps cricketer Adam Parore, Kiwis rugby league player Matthew Ridge, his father Celtic footballer Iain Gillies and pop star John Rowles. He also wrote the three-volume true crime series Ngati Dread, the novella The Lizard Song and a book about TV news coverage of Princess Diana's death called Media Princess. He is a TV news producer for 3 News in New Zealand. He is married to the artist Tui Emma Gillies and they have three children, while Angus also has an older son.
