Just Cause 2 (Classics) reviews

Out of the 30 odd games I've played this year, Just Cause 2 is the stand out. If you like sandbox games, exploration and blowing stuff up, then this is the game for you. 200+ unique vehicles, 40+ square miles to explore and my personal favourite, over 1000 fuel tanks to blow up.

The combat is fairly simplistic, with auto aim doing a lot of the work for you. For a console shooter, that suits me fine. Reasonably limited array of weapons. They are all upgradeable, affecting their performance but they are still the same 10 weapons.

The driving model is pretty average, still fun to be had with the handbrake though. The best part is the range of vehicles – taxis, sedans, tuk tuks, scooters, road bikes, sports cars, cigar boats, barges, scout helicopers, gunships, fighter jets. Pretty much all you'll ever need.

Player movement is the best I've seen, the grappling hook and parachute mean you won't waste time walking around. Base jumps, skydives, HALOs – it's all good fun.

Graphics are fantastic, sounds are above average. Replay value is huge, much better than RDD or Crackdown 2. I've played 65 odd hours for about 60% completion and still go back for more.

If you like Just Cause, or you think this game sounds like fun, then do yourself a solid and buy it!!

Wow. I was contemplating buying a game centered around more of an open world due to my collection being filled with lots of RPGs and FPSs. I was thinking whether to get this or GTA 4. Needless to say, I got Just Cause 2 and am so glad I did.

If you are into doing crazy stuff in video games, such as jumping out of helicopters at 1000s of meters above the ground, then this is the game for you! Plus, Mighty Ape had a brilliant price on this game which is well worth the money.

This game is so full of depth that i have been unable to beat it, played over 45 hours so far and not even 40% through the story. so much fun grappling around on the parachute, latching onto enemy airforce vehicles and taking them down.. definately definately a buy now game. no point renting its too painful having to return it.. go hard gamers you wont be dissappointed buying this one.

With its MASSIVE map and stunning graphics this game is incredible.hundreds of hours of fun and so so many things to do it is just awesome. the grapling hook is just the icing on the cake though ,it really is, being able to tie the enemies vehicles to a lamp post them watching it go spiraling out of control and finishing with a big bang is the most addicting thing you can see in a game,with realistic physics and an environment which you can go ANYWHERE and hang off anything in you will never be bored. something that i found really different about this game than others was how destroying buildings,petrol stations,cars,truc­ks etc gain you “chaos” points.these points unlock new missions,and with these missions come even more chaos,and with that comes better weapons vehicles etc. buy this game and you will have no regrets.

How often do you sky dive, base jump, fly jets upside down and generally do things we all wish we could be doing ?
With good graphics, physics and gameplay causing ‘chaos’ has never been this fun.

Chaos being the destruction of goverment property, (now doesnt that sound fun) ? Destruction of fuel tanks gas stations, water towers, statues and much more all fall under the available explosive scenery causing chaos.

The ability to interact with boats planes helicopters cars and motorbikes, have your own personal supplier of ‘black market’ items, with upgrades galore avaliable on all items.

Finally the grappling hook, if you've ever wanted to explore how one can work whether it be teathering two hostiles together, hostile to a helicopter, hostile helicopter to ground so many fun combinations exsist it would seem impossible to explore them all.

It's not bad as an arcade style game. The people that wouldn't give it 4 or 5 stars either haven't bothered to review it or their reviews haven't been published. I found that although it allows you to achieve tasks ‘any way you like’, there are only a few successful ways. You can also forget making a getaway in any type of vehicle as enemies just keep turning up – your best bet is swinging through the forest like a monkey.

It's not up there with the likes of Prototype, Assassin's Creed etc, and some of the frustrations with it mean you won't probably won't be pulling a sickie to get through it faster, but when you just want to run around blowing things up and hijacking choppers it's good for a laugh.

One of the biggest games i've played this year,so much action and fun you'll be at it for days on end you can spead your time destroying things, flying around driving around but the most lovable thing is the grappe hook that you can attach to anyone or anything

overall this games a must buy

This game isn't going to win any awards for inventive plot or groundbreaking story telling, but it is possibly the most fun I have had mucking around in a video game since gta4. If you are a fan of neglecting story and just doing what you want in a game, this is for you, go driving, go liberate a town, use your grappling hook to attach an enemy to your plane and do a low flyover some buildings… You can do all this. If you are looking for a game to play when you can't think of what to play, then this is the game for you.

This game rocks!! If you want to have fun this game is for you, big map cool vehicles and action and not overly complicated to play but hard enough to have fun. And the grappling hook and parachute make this game quite cool also with base jumping and flying around. You gotta play this one

Item in great condition, however the postage wasn't good had to get mighty ape to chase up and missed collection from sender few times but once sent was quick post got to me in the end other than that happy outcome

Many hours spent playing this game, plenty of side missions and plenty of action! With the very reasonable price I paid = solid purchase

This was well worth the price, I like taking over the helicopters the most. Loads of fun.

The games MASSIVE! One of the biggest maps any Sandbox game has. Good for a GTA fan who though Liberty City should be 10× as big and have a bit more of a tropical setting. Hilariously cliche voice acting, short protagonist and obviously sticking it to Cuba. Fun game, good to waste an hour or two a day on.

Like the first game has a great game play mechanic that never seems to get old.

This is quite possibly one of the most extreme games I have played. no where else can you attatch a monster truck to a fighter jet and skydive while racing it to the ground. Very good game if you're the type who loves good plain chaos!

Cool cars, Big guns, Epic roads and Massive mountains. Why- Just cause.

How did I miss this– It's like being in an action movie except pretty much only in the best parts!!! Beautiful world to explore (including little treasures to find), amazing action, and I dont care who says its repetitive but like most action movies it has a formula it sticks to – who could get tired of flipping cars or explosions or a freaking grappling hook or parachute or duel weilding guns or cheesy spy music or bad voice acting or driving cars/bikes/bo­ats/aircraft--- It is epic and some real fun! If only real life were like this! Can't wait for the third one to come out, mind you this game looks huge!

The length of the missions means you can pick it up and play it casual for a bit or keep on playing till it's done, or even better have friends around and do a mission each, you can pass it around and it's fun to watch (all of us going “whoahthatwasa­wesome!!!” the whole time)! The controls can be a bit clunky or over sensitive but once you get used to them or change the sensitivity it all makes sense (they are fully customisable).

I actually cant get over this. And it's such a good price, I bought it on a whim because it was uber cheap and the reviews were pretty good, but even at the current price what awesome value for money! But it! BUT IIIIIITT!

Just cause 2 doesn't have the greatest story line but excels in every other aspect of the game. From blowing up stuff to grapple hooking around the place makes up for countless hours off fun

You can upgrade your weapons and even vehicles. There is a nice feature of the black market where you can do all this and even buy weapons and vehicles.

If you liked ‘Just Cause’ or have heard of it, Just cause 2 takes it to a whole new level. You can guarantee that you will get your moneys worth out of this game it is a solid buy.

Explosions and mayhem what more could you ask for

The game is great because there is so much to do

Bought this for my partner for christmas (partly because i also wanted to play it!). Whilst i haven't had a chance to try it out, he is very happy with it and is really enjoying it.

He absolutely loves the free roam element of the game, which is definitely the high point for him, more so than the story line even though he is enjoying that too.

Really, really happy with the purchase overall, nothing negative to say about the game as of yet and i'm sure there won't be =)

Sure you can't please everyone, and Just Cause have definatley decided that the enjoyment of the game will take over the realistic side. There is lots to blow up, but you can't destroy buildings, which is certainly a let down, the map however makes up for this, being so vast and high and low, you can dive underwater or fly in private jets and parachute onto high mountains!

Over all just cause is the best free roam game I have ever played and wish there were more like it,the fact that you can get around fast and do anything you want just makes it so much better than other games!! :)

Cannot get the son off it

After playing the demo for over 4hours+ I new it was time to get this game. I looked around for the best price and mighty ape was the best. Very fast to get here. Now I know where to get all my games from “MIGHTY APE”

If you enjoy grand theft auto then you will love this game, excellent game play vast range of weapons and vehicles and lets not forget, a parachute, a grappling hook…gold!!!

Really long sandbox game and it is great fun to just mess around on. So much to do but campaign gets very repetitive.

Creating explosions and mayhem of Michael Bay proportion is so entertaining!

This game looks amazing from the air and on the water and the map is huge! There is so much to do to complete the story and if you let you mind be creative you can find many more hours worth of entertainment.

Awesome game so worth it all ready spent hours on it.

Brought this game while on special. What a bargain! If you've played Just Cause 1, you'll know what to expect; grappling hooking Helicopters, insane stunts, lots of explosion and (purposely) bad voice acting. Once again you have to liberate an island from a dictatorship, using your black market weaponry and set of gadgets.

The upside to this game is also its downfall – the complete open-world map. You can literally go anyway, by any means. BUT… this means that you can complete missions in any order, and they all seem to be ridiculously similar. Go here with this group of people, kill these people, blow this up..... mission end.

You can upgrade your weapons and vehicles, but mostly you use the ones you find around the map… and buying vehicles is rather expensive.

Overall, a great action packed game, with great graphics and relatively easy gameplay. It does suffer from repetitiveness, but I overcame this by playing it in short bursts.

Got a great deal from Mighty Ape! Received the game this morning and having lots of fun causing chaos already! This game has got great graphics and just as good actions to match!

Great game, many different missions and objectives to complete. Highly recommended, massive game play map and many hours of fun !!!

While the game does contain a few bugs, mainly poor lip-syncing in cut-scenes, a few visual glitches here and there and a shaky targeting system, it is a fantastic game, a masterpiece of pure escapism. The grappling hook and parachute make for some great possibilities (though enormously unrealistic). Forget everything you know about physics and the game will be a total blast. You get money for blowing stuff up. Enough said.

This is like gta without the lame driving people around missions and you are basically a superhuman stuntman! Hijacking aircraft with a grappling hook, base jumping onto enemy outposts taking them out from above. A great sandbox game!

Just Cause Two is just an amazing game. There are so many different options of what you can do and yet controls dont get difficult. This game is a high flying free roam and you can always choose yourself the order you want to do the missions. Its very user friendly. Who ever though of putting a grappling hook and an unlimited parachute in a game was truly one smart cookie. Five starts no doubt.

An excellent game that is very easily playable, and certainly very fun even after the campaign is over.

in just four days i clocked up about 50 hours of game time, and much more since then, it is a very good game, and i would recommend it to anybody :)

if you liked Just Cause 1 you will love Just Cause 2. you have so many things to do you will never get bored. plus theirs 3 difrent functions to join so hepsof missions any way i recomend this game. 4 stars

This game is great. Haven't played the first just cause yet. I purchased this game about a month ago and im really enjoying it. it has really nice graphics. And the game play is amazing. this game is great for people who love open world games :)

This game was a really rad game, I was a wee bit reluctant to buy it because I was un-certain on what the game was gonna be like but after playing it NO MORE UN-CERTAINTY! It's such a huge game, filled with heaps of activities, missions and extra content outside the main story. Well worth the purchase, easily 100 hours of gameplay!

Awesome action packed game, after finishing there are lots of , collectibles and villages to seek out. Epic stuff.

GTA meets Metal Gear Solid, the best game I have played in years, huge map, excellent AI makes for hours of fun. Highly recommended.

This is an awesome and very exciting games, the stunts you can do are very detailed although not very life like. Altogether a great game and well recommended!
