Description

A funny picture book featuring a madcap story about a new kangaroo arriving at the zoo, which uses phonic repetition to help children learn to read. The simple rhyming text helps to develop essential language and early reading skills, and there are guidance notes for parents at the back of the book. Beautifully illustrated by David Semple. This humorous rhyming story with colourful illustrations and phonic repetition has been specially written for children who are learning to read. “What a hullabaloo, someone new at the zoo! ‘How do you do? I'm a kangaroo!'” The simple text helps children develop key language skills, and there are parents' notes on phonics and reading together, too.

Author Biography:

Lesley dreamed of being a writer, but studied law as her mother insisted she had "something to fall back on". Since joining Usborne Publishing, she has written and edited hundreds of books, from funny rhyming stories to an award-winning history book. Nowadays, she is often found recording books, too, in Usborne's very own recording studio.
