YET ANOTHER! Awesome and exciting installment from lego :)
This game is a lot of fun. If you have not played any of the Lego games then this would be a great game, as it adds in some extra elements that aren't in the other games, however these new additions seem to take it away from what the old games were, so if you did play the old games you may be a little disappointed that the formula has changed somewhat. At any rate, I have played all of them and I still enjoyed this game very much. The levels are a little smaller, even though it claims to be the biggest Lego game world yet. The reason for this as each section, eg: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, etc, has it's own hub world. Which is like a glorified menu screen where you can select your characters and levels. A large version of the cantina from Lego Star Wars, or the University from the Original Lego Indiana Jones. This is cool, but personally I would have preferred the story levels to have been bigger and more involved. I am a 28 year old male, so it's not just for kids, even though kids would love it. The best feature by far would have to be the multiplayer. In the old games you played together on the same screen and couldn't move off on your own unless your buddy followed you…now the screen splits, and not just down the middle. The split-line dynamically shifts depending on where the characters are in relation to each other and morphs back together seamlessly as they re-enter the same section of the level. It actually looks really impressive and blew my mind just a little when it first happened, as I wasn't expecting it from this sort of game. In closing, if you're a fan of the Lego franchise then you certainly can't go wrong by expanding your collection with this title. It is a fun game and it allows you to build your own levels also, so the longevity is increased and therefore the value for money. If you're kind of over the Lego games a little then this will probably ill I for you as it really doesn't go out of it's way to do anything spectacular or engaging, or ground-breaking…but do you really expect a Lego game to do so?
Having Lego Batman 1 and 2 on the PC and Star wars on the Xbox, I thought I would get this as well. I'm glad I did. It is so worth the money. It combines yet another of the two of the greatest things ever done. Indiana “Henry” Jones and Lego.
