Excerpt from List of Members of the Society of the Alumni of Denison University: 1840-1920 The catalog is in three'sect'ions. First there is a, list of all gradu ates of Denison University and all livingnon-graduate former students who were enrolled in regular classes, and concerning whom information could be obtained. These arearranged by classes in chronological order. It was at first hoped to include in this list the students of Granville Fe male College and the Young Ladies' Institute; but the practical difficulties in the way of obtaining even approximately correct and complete data con; cerning them proved to be insurmountable at this time. The classes there' fore include only those wh0'were actually enrolled in Denison University or in Shepardson College after its affiliation with Denison. It is hoped that a future edition of this catalog may be enlarged and completed by the addition of the names of members of these closely related institutions. The second section of the catalog consists of a geographical index in which names listed in the first section are arranged according to place of residence. The states are in alphabetical order and under each state the cities and towns are arranged alphabetically. Foreign countries are placed at the end of the section. The third section is an alphabetical in dex showing the class under which information concerning any member of the Society of the Alumni may be found.
